My name is Lidija, an artist behind LIDIJART_ atelier, based in Zagreb.

I have always loved art.

My background is in International Relations — a world of structure, precision, and carefully chosen words. My art is where I go when that's not enough. Into texture, colour, and the kind of emotion that arrives before you have a name for it.

Alongside painting, I write poetry. I'm drawn to any form that can hold what ordinary language tends to miss — the expression on a stranger's face, a quality of light that only lasted a second, the quiet power of an animal completely at ease in its own nature.

I work across abstraction, texture, and scale, letting each piece find its own style. Some are calm and minimal. Others are built up in layers, heavy with material and movement. I held my first solo exhibition in 2023, and I keep making work — not as a routine, but because it's where I feel most like myself.

Every piece is made with attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Each one is meant to last.
